CPD needs public’s help identifying car possibly connected with Spring Valley home invasions
The Calhoun Police Department is seeking the public’s help in identifying a car possibly connected with recent home invasions in the Spring Valley area, off of Highway 53 in Calhoun.
“We are asking for the public’s help identifying the owner of this vehicle,” said Lt. Tony Pyle with the CPD. “We believe this vehicle is connected to the recent home invasions in Spring Valley. The photographs are from a surveillance video, where a victim’s card was used. While these are not the best photos as far as identifying the vehicle, you can see the front end has extensive damage, and would stand out if seen in the area.”
Anyone with information pertaining to this case is asked to contacted the Calhoun Police Department at 706- 6291234.
Calhoun Police Chief Garry Moss alerted the public in late March of home invasions in the Spring Valley area, asking for residents to be on the lookout for anyone suspicious or unfamiliar in the neighborhood.
The warnings came after three separate incidents being reported on Thursday, March 23, where the victims told police that someone had entered their home by removing a window screen and climbing in through the window.
All three residents were asleep while the burglary( s) took place.
Calhoun Police at the time said that there was physical evidence to indicate other homes in the area were targeted; however, no entry was made due to windows in those homes being secured.
“This type of crime is very uncommon in the City of Calhoun,” said Lt. Pyle last month. “While we, like others cities, have residential burglaries, it is unusual for homes to be entered at night while residents are inside. We want to encourage residences in the Spring Valley Area to make sure your doors and windows are locked at night, until an arrest can be made.”
