Rickey Stanfield
John Rickey Stanfield, age 64 of White, GA, passed away on Sunday, April 23, 2017 after a prolonged battle with cancer.
Rickey was born on June 28, 1952 in Calhoun, GA to the late John Henry and Eunice ( Shepherd) Stanfield. He was also preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, William Arthur and Sina ( Goss) Shepherd; paternal grandparents, Samuel Arthur and Savannah Jane ( Hewitt) Stanfield; and two brothers and one sister- in- law, Jerry and Joyce Stanfield and Clyde Stanfield.
Rickey attended Calhoun and Red Bud High Schools, where he was an active member of both the basketball and baseball teams. He was employed in the family business, John Stanfield & Sons Paving Company, before joining the Georgia State Department of Transportation as a Certified State Materials and Research Engineer. Rickey was a member of Damascus Baptist Church.
He is survived by his daughter, Shannan Miles and her husband Andrew of Adairsville; five grandchildren, Jordan Stephens and his wife Samantha, Taylor Stephens and his fiancé Taylor Thomas, Chandler Stephens, Sydney Summers and Zachary Miles all of Adairsville; one greatgranddaughter, McKenna Lee Stephens; one great- grandson, Kayson Taylor Stephens; and two sisters, Brenda Holliman and her husband Harrold of Cartersville and Carolyn Loudermilk and her husband Billy of Adairsville. Several nieces and nephews, including: two special nieces, Stacy Thomas and her husband Matt, Stefany Howard and her husband Mike; two great-nieces, Hannah and Hallie Howard; and two great-nephews, Ethan and Eli Thomas.
The family would like to give special thanks to Wendy Allen at Hickory Log Vocational School and their staff, Barbara Pruitt, Dr. Michael O’Neill and the nurses and staff at Tranquility Hospice of Kennesaw Mountain.
Funeral Services will be conducted on Friday, April 28 at 12 p. m. from the Chapel of Thomas Funeral Home with Reverend David Lewis officiating. Music will be arranged by Andrew and Zachary Miles and Ethan and Eli Thomas. Burial will follow in Fain Cemetery.
Pallbearers serving include: Jordan, Chandler and Taylor Stephens, Ethan and Eli Thomas and Zachary Miles. Honorary Pallbearers include: Timmy, Mark, and Johnny Stanfield, Eric Allen, Matt Thomas, Mike Howard, Randy Seabolt and Elmer Smith.
The family will receive friends on Thursday evening from 5: 30 until 8: 30 p. m. at Thomas Funeral Home.

James Knight
Mr. James Michael Knight, age 61, of Resaca, departed this life, Thursday April 20, 2017. James was born May 6, 1955, the son of the late Charlie Knight and Eula Hunt Knight. James was also preceded in death by his great- grandson, Chase Anderson; brothers, Leroy knight; sister, Paula Knight. James was veteran of the United States Army.
Mr. James Michael Knight is survived by his daughter and son- in- law, Jody and Dondi Anderson of Resaca, GA; brothers, Leroy Knight, Jack Knight, Billy Knight, Charlie Ray Knight; sisters, Bonnie Knight, Mary Knight, Loretta Knight, Paula Knight; grandchildren, Daniel, Ashley and Vincent; nephew and his wife, Anthony and Jessica Knight.
Memorial service to honor the life of Mr. James Michael Knight, was held Sunday, April 23, 2017 at 2 p. m. at Ponders Calhoun Chapel with Brother George Cross officiating. Military honors will be entrusted to American Legion Post 112.

Merle Moss
Merle “T. T.” Moss, age 51 of Calhoun, died at 4: 03 p. m. Friday, April 21, 2017 at Erlanger Medical Center in Chattanooga, Tenn.
“T . T.” was born in Floyd county June 10, 1965, a son of the late William Doyle Moss and Audrey Faye Morrison Moss. He was also preceded in death by one brother, Darren” Dude” Moss and a brother- in- law, Jerry Faw. During his working life, “TT” was a flooring installer. He enjoyed riding his Harley motorcycle, hunting and fishing. He had attended Reeves Baptist Church.
He is survived by his fiancé, Cindy James Jackson, of Calhoun; one son, Erik Moss, of Calhoun; one step- daughter, Keina Jackson, of Rome; two brothers and their wives, David and Pat Moss of Calhoun and Kirt and Cindy Moss of Anderson, S. C.; one sister, Laurie Faw, of Calhoun; one grandson, Ethan Moss, of Cartersville; one niece, Amy; and four nephews Jimi, Drew, Justin and Garrett.
Funeral Service was conducted Monday, April 24, 2017 at 11 a. m. at Thomas Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Greg Free officiating. Visitation with family and friends was held Sunday, April 23, 2017 from 2 to 5 p. m.
Honorary pallbearers were Brandon Banks, Kevin Smith, Lamar Rice, Tony Timms, Gary Patterson, Carry Gentry, and Rocky Bennett
In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be given to Cindy Jackson to help defer final expenses.
