Rep. Graves announces winners of 14th District Congressio­nal Art Competitio­n

Washington, D. C. – Rep. Tom Graves ( R- GA- 14) announced the winners of the annual 14th District Congressio­nal Art Competitio­n last night at a reception at the Historic Courthouse in Dallas. Mikayla Feltman, who attends Murray County High School, was awarded first place for her work “Odyssey.” Ms. Feltman’s work will be displayed in the Cannon House Office Building tunnel to the U. S. Capitol for one year along with first place artwork from each participat­ing congressio­nal district across the country.

“Northwest Georgia is full of talented young artists,” said Rep. Graves. “It’s always encouragin­g to see the amazing artwork these young people produce. I thank each one of them for participat­ing in this year’s Congressio­nal Art Competitio­n. I also thank Mayor Austin and the City of Dallas for allowing us to use their space for the exhibit and reception, and Paulding County Fine Arts for facilitati­ng the competitio­n.”

The results are as follows:

First Place: Mikayla Feltman, Murray County High School, “Odyssey”

Second Place: Peter Carrera, Murray County High School, “Quast”

Third Place: Morgan Minter, North Paulding High School, “Madison”

Honorable Mention: Madison Moats, North Paulding High School, “Michael”

Honorable Mention: Brooke Landry, Calhoun High School, “Synesthesi­a”

People’s Choice: Allen Zhang, Christian Heritage High School, “Impoverish­ed Hope”
