Lillian King
Mrs. Lillian Holcomb King, age 99, of King Road, Adairsville, went home to be with the Lord Sunday evening, May 7, 2017.
Mrs. King was born on March 1, 1918, daughter of the late Robert Holcomb and Elizabeth Edwards Holcomb. Mrs. King was a lifelong member of Pleasant Valley Baptist Church. She worked for 30 plus years at Cartersville Undergarment before retiring. Her joy in life was caring for her family and working in her garden and flower beds. She was preceded in death by husband of 45 years, Charlie King; son, David King; grandchildren, Teresa King Robinson and Trey Brown Baynes; daughter-inlaw, Annabell King; son- in- law, Morris Gilreath; sisters, Jueldee Holcomb and Mary “Josephine” Harris; brothers, Jessie “Bud”, Douglas, and Cecil Holcomb.
Survivors include her sons, R. C. King of Adairsville and Roy ( Linda) King of Adairsville; daughters, Laura ( James) McBrayer of Cartersville, Joy ( Bobby) Baynes of Acworth, Charlene ( Sammy) Evans of Adairsville and Debbie Gilreath of Rydal; daughter- in- law, Eunice King of Adairsville; grandchildren, Chuck King, Danny King, Roy King, Jr., Charles King, Rose Smith, Tina Smith, and Lynn Smith, Lisa Jones, Jimmy McBrayer, Greg McBrayer, Mickey McBrayer, Michael Baynes, Samantha Silvers, Corey Evans, Rolland Evans, and Lilian Bowling; 44 great grandchildren and 30 greatgreat grandchildren; several nieces and nephews also survive.
A celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, May 10, 2017, at 2 p. m. from Pleasant Valley Baptist Church, Adairsville with Dr. Mickey McBrayer, Rev. Larry Hibberts, and Rev. Keith Silvers officiating. The body will lie in state at the church from 1 p. m. until 2 p. m. Interment will follow in the church cemetery. Her grandsons will serve as pallbearers.
The family received friends Tuesday from 6 until 8 p. m. at Barton Funeral Home.
R. Dudley Barton & Son Funeral Home, Adairsville, will be in charge of funeral arrangements for Mrs. Lillian Holcomb King.
