TOBI Says, Did you see that?

-

more than a 1000 feet deep. It was a great sight to see. It was not seen by those on the regular route (the interstate), but it was only there for an instant.

Mr. George ran a marathon in New Hampshire. They included a relay event. It was a cloverleaf course. At the end of each leaf on the route, the relay member passed the baton on to another runner. During the first section he chatted with a young lady for a short distance. Both runners were encouraged.

Finishing the second loop, there was that young lady with a big smile and a cheer. It was encouraging for sure. Then running with a first time marathoner, more conversation. The young fellow was unsure of what was ahead. Again both shared words of encouragement. Apart for awhile, they crossed paths again later, with more words of help. The next time they visited was after the race with the family. It made the time special again.

Then there was a young lady ahead greeting her fellow. She gave him a snack, and then a BIG kiss, to which was heard comments of unfair advantage. A little while later she was seen again. A cry was heard of “where is my kiss.” From then on, the helper and the other runners had comments. Even at the finish area, there was conversation. They still did not know each other.

Before the race there are some visits with questions like where are you from, and how many have you done. One fast fellow was seen later; he had made a wrong turn and lost several minutes.

Now my friend, Chris, always stops and chats with the dogs. Even during the run, he has to stop and pet the dog. The owners are always glad to tell the age and breed, and name of the dog. This again makes the event more special for all those involved- the runners and the spectators.

Then after the marathon, a lady commented on how well you did. Turns out that she and her relay team had noticed and cheered each lap also. It was fun meeting each one. A short time of sharing about running and marathons, along with where each is from, always brings encouragement and good feelings.

Most of those people will probably never see each other again. They might not even remember the events.

All of this is to remind you that each moment is special. It is special for you and that person you meet. It may be brief, but it can be encouraging for both of you. Life is more fun, full and has more quality if you take advantage of those opportunities.

Christianity is living each day as special. As they say, taking time to smell the roses. That means noticing God’s great and wonderful world that He has made for you to appreciate and enjoy. Watch for your opportunities today.
