CALHOUN AQUATIC CENTER

— The Calhoun Aquatic Center is open to the entire community offering group and private swim lessons, lap swimming, liquid fitness classes, pool parties, a fitness room, and is home to Northwest Georgia Aquatics, a sanctioned USA Swimming & US Masters Swimming competitiv­e, year-round swim team. PRO WRESTLING MEGA SHOW

— A Pro Wresling Mega Show will be held on Friday, May 26 at the RCW Arena in Chatsworth (806 N. Second Ave). Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. The show will start at 6 p.m. with a performanc­e by Alternativ­e Christian Rock band Burning Alter, and wrestling will start at 7 p.m. Former TNA, ECW, WWE and WCW star Johnny Swinger will face the Chalk Outline Mike Clay along with much more. Former star Action Mike Jackson and many more will be there, including Digger James, Greg Cable and more. LADY PHOENIX SOFTBALL CAMP

— The 2017 Lady Phoenix Softball Camp will be held May 31-June 2 at the Sonoravill­e High School Softball Field. The camp is open to rising K-8th graders (must be five years of age before May 1), and players will be grouped based on age and skill level. Registrati­on will be available at 8:15 a.m. on the first day of camp, and the camp will go from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day. The cost is $40 per camper, which includes a camp T-shirt. Please have payment and insurance waiver ready upon arrival May 31. Checks should be made out to SHS Booser Club-Memo Softball Camp. There is a $10 discount for siblings and Gordon County School employees’ children only. The three-day camp will be an opportunit­y for your child to learn the fundamenta­ls of the game. The Lady Phoenix camp will include instructio­ns on hitting, throwing, fielding, baserunnin­g, the mental game and more. There will also be gameplay/game situations on the final day of camp. CALHOUN COMMUNITY PROGRAM SUMMER CAMPS BERRY COLLEGE SUMMER SOCCER CAMPS STEW TRAIN NORTH GEORGIA WRESTLING TRAINING CAMP

— The Stew Train North Georgia Wrestling Training Camp wil be held June 19-22 at Sonoravill­e High School for rising K-12th graders. The head instructor will be Sonoravill­e High head wrestling coach Randy Steward with special guest instructor­s including Daniel Dennis (2016 USA Olympic Freestyle Team and former Iowa Hawkeye), Pete Bush (NCAA champ at Iowa and head coach of Assumption High in Davenport, Iowa), Josh Watts (head coach of Iowa Western Community College and three-time Iowa high school state champ), Rick Healey (assistant coach at Loras College and two-time NCAA All-American) and Cliff Thompson (three-time NCAA All-American and Eye On The Prize Club Head Coach). The cost is $100 per camper for the four-day camp if registered by June 2 and $125 per camper after June 2. There are team discounts available. Camper fee includes eight morning/afternoon technique sessions, live wrestling at the conclusion of each day, daily group/team competitio­ns and more. SOFTBALL WITH MONROE YOUTH SOFTBALL CAMP

— The 2017 Softball with Monroe Youth Softball Camp will be held June 19-23 at the Gordon Central High Softball Field. There will be two sessions per day with rising 1st-4th graders going 9-11 a.m. and ages 5th-8th going 11 a.m.-1 p.m. The cost is $30 for early registrati­on and $35 for walk-up registrati­on. Registrati­on forms can be picked up at the Gordon County Rec Department or at the Calhoun City Rec Department.

CALHOUN REC DEPARTMENT DOG DAYS OF SUMMER

— Dog Days of Summer will be held on July 22 at Calhoun Park. There will be contests you can enter and all monies raised from the contests will go to the Gordon County Animal Shelter to help with the rebuilding process. Vendors and community groups are welcome to set up a booth, but must fill out an applicatio­n with a $20 space fee. There is an $8 entry fee for all 13 and up or bring an item from the donation list for free entry.
