show will start at 6 p.m. with a performance by Alternative Christian Rock band Burning Alter, and wrestling will start at 7 p.m. Former TNA, ECW, WWE and WCW star Johnny Swinger will face the Chalk Outline Mike Clay along with much more. Former star Action Mike Jackson and many more will be there, including Digger James, Greg Cable and more. LADY PHOENIX SOFTBALL CAMP
— The 2017 Lady Phoenix Softball Camp will be held May 31-June 2 at the Sonoraville High School Softball Field. The camp is open to rising K-8th graders (must be five years of age before May 1), and players will be grouped based on age and skill level. Registration will be available at 8:15 a.m. on the first day of camp, and the camp will go from 8:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. each day. The cost is $40 per camper, which includes a camp T-shirt. Please have payment and insurance waiver ready upon arrival May 31. Checks should be made out to SHS Booser Club-Memo Softball Camp. There is a $10 discount for siblings and Gordon County School employees’ children only. The three-day camp will be an opportunity for your child to learn the fundamentals of the game. The Lady Phoenix camp will include instructions on hitting, throwing, fielding, baserunning, the mental game and more. There will also be gameplay/game situations on the final day of camp. FUTURE PHOENIX FOOTBALL CAMP
— The Sonoraville High Phoenix Football team will be hosting a Future Phoenix Football Camp on May 30-June 1 from 9 a.m.-12 p.m. for ages 5-14 at Sonoraville High School. The cost of the camp is $30 for single camper or $25 for siblings. Each camper will receive a t-shirt for attending the camp. The camp will be led by Phoenix coaches and players. Campers can Pre-Register or Register the first day of camp. You can also register the day of the camp beginning at 8:30 a.m.
GORDON CENTRAL WARRIORS YOUTH FOOTBALL CAMP
— The Gordon Central High football program will host a youth camp June 1-2 from 8 a.m.-1 p.m. at the Gordon Central High School football stadium and practice field for rising 1st-8th graders. The cost is $60, which includes breakfast and a t-shirt. There will also be a concession stand open where kids can buy drinks and snacks. They can bring their lunch or buy hot dog and hamburger lunch combos through the concession stand. The camp will be conducted by Gordon Central High coaches and players, and they will deliver hands-on instruction on the fundamentals of football. Campers will learn how to tackle in a safe and effective manner, throw, catch and block. The goal of the camp is to make each athlete feel more confident in his/her ability as a football player with a heavy emphasis on fun and fundamentals.
