American Red Cross of Northwest Georgia to host GOLF FOR THE RED on Friday, Aug. 4

- Staff Reports

For the first time ever, the American Red Cross of Northwest Georgia is hosting one of its largest fundraisers yet - GOLF FOR THE RED. The event will be held at Fields Ferry Golf Club on Friday, Aug. 4 and will include major prizes, such as a $ 100,000 shootout.

The American Red Cross formed in 1881, and the Northwest Georgia Chapter’s growing involvement has been fortunate enough to help increase the number of volunteers in our area to assist those in times of need.

Most people aren’t sure what the American Red Cross does. The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors.

Jeffrey Putnam, executive director of American Red Cross of Northwest Georgia, has been at the forefront to bring awareness to the American Red Cross in Northwest Georgia. He and his team spread awareness as to the benefits that the American Red Cross provides to those in times of need. American Red Cross volunteers all over the United States are first responders in disaster- stricken areas. They see a need and fill it. That is why the American Red Cross helps so many people each and every day.

GOLF FOR THE RED is a new and fun event that the community can look forward to participating in annually. Golfers from any level will be able to participate in several exciting events that require no certain skill level to win. The event is being sponsored by local businesses throughout the entire Northwest Georgia community. If you are interested in participating and/ or would like to help sponsor the event, please contact 706- 7283406 to sign up.
