Blood Assurance names McDaniel as executive director of operations - Georgia

ROME, Ga. – Blood Assurance recently appointed Brian McDaniel as executive director of operations for the company’s Georgia operations. McDaniel assumed management of Blood Assurance’s Georgia operations on June 5, 2017.

“Brian is a long-time partner of Blood Assurance with a broad skill base across the health care spectrum,” said Jay Baumgardne­r, executive director of marketing and community relations at Blood Assurance. “He has experience in strategic business planning and has strong community relations skills that we know will boost the reach of our Georgia locations.”

His areas of expertise include operationa­l management, staff and customer relations, performanc­e management, strategic planning, staff developmen­t, regulatory compliance and human resources.

“I have always been a fierce advocate of Blood Assurance, and I hold the organizati­on in the highest regard,” said McDaniel. “I have had the opportunit­y to work closely with area representa­tives to further Blood Assurance in the community. I look forward to continue working with our Georgia team to expand the mission of the organizati­on in order to help our community through a stable and safe blood supply.”

McDaniel previously served as the president of the Cohutta Springs Foundation in Crandle, Ga.; administra­tive director of operations for Murray Medical Center in Chatsworth, Ga.; president and CEO for DB Express in Calhoun, Ga. and Ennis, Texas; assistant vice president for Emory-Adventist Hospital in Smyrna, Ga. and laboratory director for Murray Medical Center.

McDaniel is a veteran of the U.S. Army where he served as a Combat Medic and a Medical Laboratory Specialist. While in the Army, McDaniel earned the Expert Field Medical Badge and the Army Parachutis­t Badge. He is a member of the American Legion and Disabled American Veterans.

He is a certified Medical Technologi­st and is double certified in human resources as a Senior Profession­al from the Society for Human Resource Management and a Senior Profession­al in Human Resources through the Human Resources Certificat­ion Institute. McDaniel earned a Master of Science in business administra­tion and a Bachelor of Science in business administra­tion both from LaSalle University in Mandeville, La.

He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives, Rotary Internatio­nal and the Blood Assurance Advisory Board for Whitfield/Murray County.

He and his wife, Deborah, live in Dalton, Ga. along with their daughter.
