were prominently mentioned. Each has served as President and Vice- President respectively since the inception of the organization. DeWayne and Scott both brought knowledge of the Hall of Fames in their hometowns.
It is with deep appreciation those “beginning” forces in the formation of the Hall of Fame are reflected upon. Read this statement in the opening pages of the 2017 Banquet Program.
“In March 2014, a small group met with the purpose of establishing a sports Hall of Fame. This group, known in the corporate by laws as the ‘ Founding Board of Directors,’ consisted of Dewayne Bowen, Andrea Brumlow, Jeff Clements, Scott Fletcher, Jimmy Palmer and Chuck Ruth.”
The organization, labor, financial support and influence of that group cannot be measured and described in this short space.
The pictures of the above named “Founding Board,” plus the present Board of Directors are displayed in the outstanding program booklet of last Saturday’s banquet. There are Pete Garigan, Barry Blevins, David Scoggins, Suzanne Roland, Chris Tarpley, Todd Holbert, Coach Frank Hall, Shane Faulkner and Hall of Fame Member Freda Hunt Glass along with this writer. Just let it be emphasized that from this less- than- adequate- contributing member, but astute observer, I am awed at the thinking, the planning and effort that the group devotes to making things happen.
