Rockmart 11, Gordon Central 3
The Lady Warriors trailed by two going to the third inning, but Rockmart scored seven runs over the next four frames to pull away for a region win at home.
Gordon Central (1-8, 1-4) was led offensively by Destiny Parker who was 2-for-3 with a homer and two RBIs. Morgan Frank added two hits, and Dalyn Muse had a double and an RBI.
Gordon Central hosted Model on Thursday in another Region 7-AA contest. (For details on that game, see Wednesday’s Calhoun Times.) The Lady Warriors host Calhoun in a non-region game on Wednesday at 5 p.m.
Christian Heritage 6, GC 0
The Lady Warriors were shut out on Monday as they dropped a non-region contest.
Gordon Central (1-7) was held to just three hits as they came from Montana Slaughter, Mackenzie Hall and Destiny Parker. Parker’s hit was a double.
Morgan Frank pitched the complete game for the Lady Warriors, giving up six runs (three earned) on eight hits while striking out seven.
