CALHOUN REC DEPARTMENT FALL COED SOFTBALL REGISTRATI­ON

— The Calhoun Recreation Department announces 2017 Fall Coed Softball Registrati­on that will take place from Aug. 1-Aug. 31. The league will be for adult men and women and the registrati­on fee is $360 per team. Registrati­on will be available Monday and Thursday 8 a.m.-8 p.m. and Wednesday and Friday 8 a.m.-5 p.m. at the Calhoun Rec Department at 601 S. River Street. GLOW BALL GOLF TOURNAMENT

— There will be a glow ball golf tournament held at the Calhoun Elks Club on Sept. 16. The competitio­n will be a two-man select shot nine hole tournament and the cost is $30 per person for early registrati­on or $35 per person for registrati­on at the event. Tee time will be at 7:45 p.m. There will also be a chipping contest, putting contest and closest to the pin for $1 per ball or $5 for eight balls. GORDON CENTRAL/ASHWORTH GOLF YETI COOLER RAFFLE CALLING ALL CALHOUN HIGH HARRIERS

— Calhoun High School will honor and recognize cross country runners from 1968 to today on September 21 and 22, 2017. 2017 marks 50 years that cross country has existed as a sport at CHS. Plan now to attend the home meet on Sept. 21 at New Echota State Historic Site. A meet and greet will be held at 3 with the meet to follow at 5. Come one, come all to see former teammates and the program’s first coach, Lynn Walter.
