Brock crowned Gordon Central High School’s 2017 Homecoming Queen

Gordon Central senior Dayla Brock was chose as this year’s Homecoming Queen during halftime festivitie­s on Friday night, Sept. 8, during Gordon Central’s Homecoming game against LaFayette.

This year’s homecoming theme was STAR WARriorS: The Nation Strikes Back. Each day of Homecoming Week saw a different theme dressup day. The Homecoming Parade this year was held in the evening on Thursday before Friday’s game. After the parade, there was a “Galactica of Improv Night” in the Blue Box Theater on the Gordon Central campus.

While Gordon Central suffered a close loss at the Homecoming Game by a score of 28- 27, the school proved the culture has definitely changed this year, with tons of cheering fans in the crowd and an excitement that was refreshing.

The special week ended with the Homecoming Dance and crowning of the Homecoming King on Saturday night, which saw senior Jacob Davis being crowned.

This year’s Homecoming Court included the following:

Freshman Court: Syndey Rainwater, Emily Pierce, Kristen Coats and Grace Faber;

Sophomore Court: Jazelyn Perez, Rachael West, Madison Reyes and Karley Klein;

Junior Court: Emily Land, Morgan Frank, Wyatt Bishop and April Price;

Queens Court: Raquel Luna, Cassidy Tinch, Dayla Brock, Ashli Farmer and JaBresha Evans;

Kings Court: Jacob Davis, Branson Towe, Braden Harper, Lee Thomas Richardson and Dylan Ramsey.
