White Water Junction to perform at HAC on Oct. 28
On Saturday, Oct. 28, the community will be able to see White Water Junction live in concert as the band will come back from their 34-year “hiatus” for a one-night only performance at the Harris Arts Center in downtown Calhoun.
The original band, consisting of John Buckner, Jerry Brumbelow, Kenny Seabolt and Travis Stephens, will be joined on stage that night by Ron Bentley on guitar and Mickey “Moose” Hall on bongos.
Opening the show will be John Harris’ band, REVOLVER. Harris was responsible for putting together a private show with White Water Junction a few months ago for an allstar jam that turned into a four hour show.
Back in the day, White Water Junction performed with Chet Atkins, Pat and Debbie Boone, Jerry Lee Lewis, B. J. Thomas, Ray Stevens and Charlie Pride. They were the first band to perform on the Coca Cola stage at the first Riverbend Festival in Chattanooga, Tenn. They were also one of the first bands to perform at Calhoun Musicland.
Speaking of Calhoun Musicland, some of the artist’s files, including a “Code of Conduct” rider for the Hank Williams, Jr. show that had been modified by his crew, were recently discovered at a storage unit that was being demolished. A silent auction on these and some other items will be featured at the concert to benefit the Tiny Homes Project of Gordon County. Tickets for this event are available at the Harris Arts Center and Pete’s Music City. Reserved (front center) tickets are $25 and general admission tickets are $20.
