Ge­or­gia Na­tional Fair Cat­tle and Swine Shows, Live­stock Judg­ing Con­test

mar­ket class, while Ben Wil­liams placed first and sec­ond in his mar­ket classes.

Ex­hibit­ing in the Ge­or­gia Na­tional Fair Swine Show were Mackenzie Cof­fey, Grace Johns, Re­bekah McEl­rath, Gus Miller, Gracy Sex­ton, and Bai­ley Stafford. Gus Miller re­ceived 3rd place in 5th grade show­man­ship, Re­bekah McEl­rath placed 11th in 7th grade show­man­ship, and Gracy Sex­ton placed 3rd in 11th grade show­man­ship. Re­bekah McEl­rath also placed 9th in her mar­ket class and Gracy Sex­ton placed sec­ond and third in her re­spec­tive classes for her mar­ket hog and breed­ing gilt. Gracy Sex­ton also re­ceived spe­cial recog­ni­tion for be­ing the 3rd place over­all in the Ge­or­gia Ju­nior Live­stock Foun­da­tion show­man­ship points cir­cuit for 2016-2017.

Fi­nally, the Gor­don County 4-H live­stock judg­ing team com­peted at the Peach State Live­stock Judg­ing Con­test held at the Ge­or­gia Na­tional Fair. Ju­nior team members in­cluded Luke Brown, Kylie Hurd, Bre­ana Man­ning, Re­bekah McEl­rath, Roberto Romero, and Ben Wil­liams. Se­nior team members were Bryson Smith, Shelby Stephen­son, Amara White, and Carol-Ann Wor­sham. In the con­test, the ju­nior team placed 5th and the se­nior team placed 6th, and both were the top Ge­or­gia 4-H team in their re­spec­tive di­vi­sions.
