Come celebrate the season and support the arts! The Harris Arts Center’s Festival of Trees is celebrating its 13th year of bringing delight and creativity to downtown Calhoun.

According to Harris Arts Center Director Jennifer Dudley, admission to Festival of Trees is free. “We hope the community will join us for our most popular event of the season: a magical display of tabletop Christmas trees, gift baskets, wreaths and arrangements,” said Dudley.

All entries in the Festival of Trees are offered for silent auction during Harris Arts Center hours: Monday, 9 a.m. - 6 p.m.; Tuesday through Thursday, 9 a.m. - 4 p.m.; and Saturday, 10 a.m. - 2 p.m.

“There is something for everyoneelegant to whimsical, sports fan to chef, feminine to man cave,” said Dudley. “Purchase a unique handcrafted gift from our Art Market, such as pottery, ornaments, jewelry, baskets, textiles, turned wood, paintings and so much more.”

Generous local businesses or individuals design a themed entry. For a $200 donation, an art center elf will custom design a tree for you, or will design a centerpiece or gift basket for $150.

“We have 84 entries this year,” said Dudley. “All proceeds help keep arts in our community.”

During Christmas Open House, Harris Arts Center will offer something for everyone. “In addition to Festival of Trees, we will have entertainment from our Community Chorus, a visit from Mrs. Claus and light refreshments,” said Dudley. “Come get ready for the Holiday Season at the Harris Arts Center.”
