Harris Arts Center hosts “Hometown Christmas” on Dec. 9

- Staff Reports

Come join the Harris Arts Center for a night of sing-a-longs, family fun and celebration of the Christmas season on Saturday, Dec. 9 at the Harris Arts Center in downtown Calhoun for a Hometown Christmas. Doors open at 6:30 p.m. and festivities start at 7 p.m.

Enjoy the beautiful sounds of Heart and Soul, a local ladies vocal ensemble, and the almost famous, or maybe more befitting, infamous Hare Boys as they “Fa la la la la” in the holidays with familiar and favorite songs of the season.

This is a fundraiser for HAC in helping keep the arts alive and well in the Calhoun-Gordon County community. Everyone welcome and bring the kiddos along to have a “HO, HO” of a good time.

Tickets can be purchased at the door or in advance by calling 706-6292599. $10 for members, $12 for seniors and students, $15 for non-members.

ABOUT THE HARRIS ARTS CENTER:

The Harris Arts Center is home to the Roland Hayes Museum, Ratner Theater, art galleries, classroom and rental spaces. A visit to the museum is always free as is admission to the galleries, where art shows of varying genre rotate each 6 to 8 weeks. Largely volunteer driven, Calhoun Community Chorus, Music Guild and Calhoun Little Theater produce many plays and concerts year round. Yoga and adult clay classes are on-going. Private lessons are offered in violin, guitar and voice. The facility may be rented for receptions and private and corporate functions.

As a not-for-profit institution, the Harris Arts Center depends on the generous support of members, donors, patrons and sponsors to enable us to fulfill our mission of bringing the arts to the entire community. Membership dollars help us to present diverse and engaging public programming, such as, free art exhibits and admission to the Roland Hayes Museum; Calhoun Little Theater productions; Calhoun Community chorus concerts; Mohawk Preschool POPS Series; the Georgia String Band Festival and Festival of Trees. The arts center also offers classes in clay, Yoga, piano, drama, violin and banjo.

Members are entitled to our lowest price for ticketed events, discounts for classes and workshops, our quarterly postcard mailings, and patron emails. You also join a group of committed individuals who believe that the arts inspire the kind of creative thinking that encourages mindful problemsolving, strengthens economic prosperity and enriches lives.
