Jackets put together complete effort in road win over Colts
Calhoun head coach Vince Layson said he has been waiting for his team to put a full four quarters of solid basketball together, and the Jackets finally did that on Monday.
Calhoun visited Coahulla Creek to make up a previously postponed Region 6-AAA crossover matchup and dominated the contest, especially in the second half, to run away for a 66-36 victory.
The Jackets (4-11) led 31-23 at the before really putting the gas pedal down to outscore the Colts 16-4 in the third quarter. They finished off the game with a 19-9 advantage in the fourth.
Chase Goble led Calhoun in scoring with 16, and Davis Allen added 15. Caleb Boone and Payton Morrow each contributed eight points.
The Colts were led by Maddox Adams, who scored a game-high 20.
