CCS holds Technology Competition

Calhoun City Schools held its twelfth annual Technology Competition on Nov. 30, 2017. Fifty-nine students in grades 3-12 competed in various categories such as 3D Modeling, Animation, Audio Production, Device Modification, Digital Game Design, Digital Photo Production, Graphic Design, Internet Applications, Mobile Apps, Multimedia, Robotics, and Video Production.

To kick off the competition, a CCS Tech Competition Logo contest was held to determine the logo placed on the CCS Tech Competition t-shirts. Calhoun High School student, Caitlyn Cherry, designed the winning logo. Caitlyn won a $50 Visa gift card as well as a CCS Tech Competition t-shirt.

In addition to presenting projects, students participated in trivia games and made gifts for nursing home residents. At the awards ceremony, there was a drawing for a Chromebook. Rob Kessler was the winner.

Students placing first in each project category and grade division will compete at the Northwest Regional Tech Competition January 26, 2018 at Georgia Highlands College in Rome, Georgia.
