CCS holds Technology Competitio­n

Calhoun City Schools held its twelfth annual Technology Competitio­n on Nov. 30, 2017. Fifty-nine students in grades 3-12 competed in various categories such as 3D Modeling, Animation, Audio Production, Device Modificati­on, Digital Game Design, Digital Photo Production, Graphic Design, Internet Applicatio­ns, Mobile Apps, Multimedia, Robotics, and Video Production.

To kick off the competitio­n, a CCS Tech Competitio­n Logo contest was held to determine the logo placed on the CCS Tech Competitio­n t-shirts. Calhoun High School student, Caitlyn Cherry, designed the winning logo. Caitlyn won a $50 Visa gift card as well as a CCS Tech Competitio­n t-shirt.

In addition to presenting projects, students participat­ed in trivia games and made gifts for nursing home residents. At the awards ceremony, there was a drawing for a Chromebook. Rob Kessler was the winner.

Students placing first in each project category and grade division will compete at the Northwest Regional Tech Competitio­n January 26, 2018 at Georgia Highlands College in Rome, Georgia.
