Red Bud Baseball continues strong start to season

and six strikeouts. Dawson Townsend enjoyed a 3-for-3 day at the plate, while Jaxon Pate and Zach Lyles both went 2- for- 2. Additional­ly, Trevor Childers drove in two RBIs, with Tyler Johns, Zevyn Ferguson, Kaden Baucom, Lyles, Parrott and Pate all adding an RBI each.

-The Phoenix followed that excellent effort and moved to 2-0 on the season with a dominant 16-4 victory over the Adairsvill­e Tigers the next day. Childers snatched the win on the mound, striking out five Tigers. Lyles connected for two hits, with Kannon England, Nicholas Beddington and Ferguson able to come up with a hit each. Lyles, Baucom, England and Beddington each came through with RBI’s.

-After blanking the Cass Colonels 17-0 in its first contest, The Calhoun Yellow Jackets continued the hot start to the season by defeating South Central 15-0. The win moves the team to 2-0.

Soccer

-The Ashworth Lady Warriors snagged a 4-0 win over the Coosa Lady Eagles.

Madison Miller starred in this one, netting three goals, with Cora Stepp chipping in an unassisted goal, Carlee Brock and Brandolyn Alred adding assists and Kyndall Cain coming through with some key saves in goal.

-The Red Bud Lady Phoenix took down the Dalton Lady Catamounts 2-1 in a non-region showdown this past week.

Emma Hamilton put the Lady Phoenix on the board with a goal, while Olivia Beach scored on a free kick and Tatum Ballinger turned away multiple shots from the Lady Catamounts in goal.
