REGISTRATION
— The Gordon County Parks and Recreation would like to announce open registration for the upcoming 2018 Softball and T-Ball Season. Registration is open from Monday, Feb. 3 through Saturday, Feb. 24. Registration fee for softball will be $50. Age divisions are as follows: 7-8 coach pitch, 9-10 and 11-12 live pitch. Age control date is prior to Jan. 1, 2018. Registration for T-Ball is $35. Age control date is prior to Jan. 1, 2018. Must be 3 prior to Jan. 1 and not turn 5 prior to May 1. There is a $10 late fee for registration after Feb. 24. Registration can be taken at the Sonoraville Recreation Complex at 7494 Fairmount Highway Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m.-9 p.m., Saturday 8:30 a.m.-12 p.m. or online at www.gordoncounty. org. SONORAVILLE STATE CHAMPIONSHIP YOUTH WRESTLING CLINIC
— The Sonoraville High Wrestling program, which recently won the Class AAA State Traditional Championship and had three individual state champions, will hold a twice-weekly clinic for K-5th grade students in Gordon County starting on March 13 and running through April 12. The practices will be on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6-7 p.m. in the Sonoraville Rock Gym. The cost is $40 for four weeks of wrestling instruction and the fee includes a camp t-shirt. Dress for the practices are tennis shoes/wrestling shoes, shorts, sweats, t-shirt. Sign up and pay on the first night. Make checks payable to Sonoraville High School. CALHOUN-GORDON COUNTY SPORTS HALL OF FAME NOMINATIONS
— Nominations are currently being accepted for the Calhoun-Gordon County Sports Hall of Fame Class of 2018. Please visit the website for instructions on the nomination process or to print an application. The qualifications can be viewed at www.cgcshf.com.
BATTLE AT THE FURNACE 2018
— The Battle at the Furnace 2018 basketball tournament will be held May 11-12 (No Sunday games) at the Sonoraville Schools Complex and Recreation Gym (4-5 gyms within walking distance of each other). The entry fee is $150 per team with a three-game guarantee and t-shirts will be awarded to champions in each age group. Age divisions are (boys and girls): fourth-grade, fifth-grade, sixth-grade, seventh-grade, eighth-grade, 9th-10th grade (JV) or 11th-12th grade (varsity).
