Teach­ers will en­gage in model lessons, dis­cuss the mer­its of giv­ing stu­dents choice in writ­ing, ex­am­ine stu­dent work, dis­cuss the use of as­sess­ment tools to guide and as­sess the work, and ex­plore the power of in­di­vid­ual and group con­fer­ences in fa­cil­i­tat­ing stu­dent growth.
