TOBI Says, Are You Full Speed Ahead?

-

that he was full speed ahead.

Saul was a leader of the Jewish people. He had degrees from the best school, and studied under the leading scholars. He worked to be the top student, and the best known. Later, when Jesus touched him, he still went full speed ahead, but it was the opposite direction. He did not worry about the cost. Many times he went into a city and preached. When many believed, it got him into trouble with the local Jewish leaders. He was whipped and beaten. He was stoned with rocks and left for dead outside the city. He would get up, and go to the next town and the same thing would happen again. But he was still full speed ahead.

You know people like that today. Many athletes dedicate their life to be the best in the world. They go full speed ahead.

But you do not need to be a great athlete to go full speed ahead. You have heard major league baseball players say that they would play for free because they love the game.

At a run, there may be a large crowd, but only a few believe that they will win. Still many of them go at it with all they have in them. The desire to do well is strong. My friend, Chris, is an example of that drive. He is older, but he goes out every week, and is out there working as hard as anyone there. Someone asked why he does that? It is because of the desire and drive within him.

Someone once asked a veteran ( older) baseball player if he still had butterflies in his stomach when he walked onto the field. He said yes, and that as long as he did, he would continue playing. The same was repeated by a marathoner that had run hundreds of marathons. The excitement is still there.

As a Christian, you are on God’s team. Do you have that zeal and drive? Do you go full speed ahead? The desire to serve the Lord Jesus Christ should come from the inside. No one should need to drive you to do it. Being a part of the that team, and sharing in that brings real joy.
