FRADY, Daphene Gravitt

Daphene Gravitt Frady, 92, of Calhoun died on Thursday, July 11, 2019 following several months of declining health. Daphene was born in Gordon County on November 25, 1926. She was the daughter of the late Roy and Zola Grogan Gravitt. She was married to Claude Frady from 1947 until his death in 2011. Her brother, Melvin Gravitt, her sisters, Elizabeth Gravitt Mathis and Johnnie Lee Gravitt Stone, and her nephew, Lamar Gravitt also preceded her in death. Daphene was a lifetime and active member of Antioch Baptist Church. She loved children and was known as a jokester. She enjoyed gardening and traveling.

Daphene is survived by her nephew and his wife, Rickey and Pat Stone; great niece, Julie Stone Ingle and her husband, Josh; great nephews, Joshua Stone and his wife, Sheryl, and their daughter, Peyton, Jason Gravitt and his wife, Allie, and their children, Chloe and Jude, Jamie Gravitt and his wife, Laurie, and their daughter, Lillith; Pam Gravitt Cagle.

The family received friends on Saturday, July 13, 2019 from 10:00 a.m. until noon at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home. The funeral service followed the visitation from the funeral home chapel on Saturday at noon. Burial followed at Fain Cemetery. Rev. William Roberts, Rev. Randy Muse, and Rev. Ed-die Brannon officiated. The deacons of Antioch Baptist Church served as pallbearers. Joan Eggers, Lori Land, and Josh Ingle arranged the music for the service.
