Calhoun First Presbyteri­an Church, 829 Red Bud Road, Calhoun, will host their Mistletoe Market on Saturday-Sunday, Nov. 23-24. Saturday hours will be from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday hours will be from 1 to 6 p.m.

The Community Thanksgivi­ng Worship is scheduled for Monday evening, Nov. 25, at 7 p.m. It will again be held at the Harris Arts Center Auditorium. Jason Hawkins, who works for Calhoun City Schools, will be bringing the Thanksgivi­ng message. He is a member of Calhoun First Baptist Church. Special music will be presented by representa­tives of different congregati­ons in the area. This annual service for the community is sponsored by the Gordon County Christian Ministeria­l Alliance. Light refreshmen­ts and fellowship will follow the service. Everyone is invited to join together for this long standing community time of giving thanks.

The American Legion in Dalton will host a Harvest Outreach event on Thanksgivi­ng Day, Nov. 28, from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. The even will feature gospel singing and dinner. Call 706-280-0883 for more informatio­n

The Basement will hold Nights of Worship weekly each Saturday, with fellowship at 5:30 p.m. and worship at 6:30 p.m. The Basement is at 903D S. Wall St. in Calhoun.

Oostanaula Baptist Outreach Ministry will be open on the third Saturday of each month, taking donations for food and clothing. The outreach ministry is located at 156 Old Rome Dalton Road.

There is a new Anglican church in formation for the Whitfield/ Gordon County area. This new mission parish will be affiliated with the Anglican Church in North America through the Anglican Diocese of the South. A place and time of gathering is being determined based on replies. City of Refuge Calhoun is sponsoring Celebrate Recovery sessions every Tuesday. Celebrate Recovery is a Christ-centered recovery program for all of life’s hurts, habits, and hangups. The Closet of Hope at Pleasant Valley Baptist Church in Calhoun will be open the third Saturday of each month from 9-11 a.m. There will be a free breakfast served until 10:30 a.m. The Closet of Hope is a faith-based nonprofit clothing ministry serving all of the community.
