Bethesda Baptist Church of Plainville

is hosting a free “There is Hope” event Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Calhoun Recreation Department football field on McDaniel Station Road. COVID-19 vaccines will be available from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. provided by the CORE Response Team and there will be candy for the kids, giveaways and a performanc­e by Ahmad Hall and Friends. CDC guidelines will be followed and masks will be provided.

There will be an Easter egg hunt on Saturday at 11 a.m. at the Resaca Assembly of God, 904 Resaca Lafayette Road. Hamburgers and hot dogs will be served and there will be games for the children. Come on out for good food, fun and fellowship!

Club will open at 4 p.m. Saturday for jamming by two bands at 5:30 p.m., followed by a home cooked Easter dinner at $7 per plate including drink and dessert. Gordon County Christian Ministeria­l Alliance

will again be hosting a Sonrise Service for Easter Sunday morning, April 4, at BB&T Park starting at 7 a.m. Daniel Worley, minister of education at Newtown Baptist Church, will be the speaker, with Jody Bryson, minister of music at Calhoun First United Methodist Church, leading the music. Bring a chair and observe social distancing with those outside your bubble.

will host a family-friendly 75th anniversar­y celebratio­n and soft reopening, Saturday, April 10, from noon to 4 p.m. at the Renis Barrett post building, 406 W. Line St. Scheduled activities include a cornhole tournament, water balloon toss, petting zoo, inflatable­s, arts and crafts, food, drinks, live music and inflatable­s.
