- From Calhoun City Schools

Calhoun High School 12th grader, Brodie Blevins, is the Calhoun College and Career Academy Student of the Week for Nov. 8-12.

Brodie is a student in the audio/video technology and film production pathway at CCCA.

Brodie’s audio/video technology and film production teacher, Bill Long, nominated Brodie stating, “Brodie has made meaningful contributions to the AVTF pathway. Since his freshman year at Calhoun High School, Brodie has been in charge of the National Federation of State High School network live stream from the CHS press box every week at Phil Reeve stadium. He monitors the live stream as well as the audio feed and adds score, time, and event graphics to the production through the PlayOn Network Producer application. These live streams are available to anyone who would like to view them. Recently, Brodie has taken on the high-end challenge of learning Adobe After

Effects. He has produced original motion graphics for the awardwinning Calhoun+ video magazine program that appears on the CHS Announcements YouTube channel every other week. He has produced both school and calendar-related graphics, and in his most recent project, he used exploding fireworks and American Flag graphics to honor Veterans Day!”

Brodie chose the audio/video technology and film production pathway at the CCCA because he has always been interested in video editing movies. Brodie aspires to design logos and create advertisements for businesses. He would like to pursue a degree in animation and graphic design or marketing.

When asked about his thoughts on the audio/video technology and film production pathway at CCCA, Brodie stated, “I enjoy video production because it gives me a chance to make a big contribution to all of the things that happen in class, behind the camera, and at the computer!”
