Calhoun Christmas Parade,

The 2021

themed “The Miracle on Wall Street,” is set for 7 p.m. on Thursday, Dec. 9, beginning at the intersecti­on of Wall Street and Line Street, and traveling south on Wall Street, ending at the intersecti­on of Wall Street and Piedmont Street. The lineup will be held on North Wall Street as normal.

The Harris Arts Center, 212 S. Wall St., will host author and Calhoun native Jimmy Blackmon, for “An Evening with the Author” on Friday, Dec. 10, at 6 p.m.

Faith Deliveranc­e Ministry and Outreach will host its “Christmas in the Mountains” event, Saturday, Dec. 11, from noon to 6 p.m., at 75 Crossroads Church Road, Ellijay. The event includes gospel singing groups, along with preaching from Evangelist Sam Hooper.

First Baptist Church of Calhoun Choir will perform “First Christmas” on Sunday, Dec. 12, at 6 p.m. with finger foods to follow the performanc­e.

The Calhoun-Gordon County Public Library, 100 N. Park Ave., will host Santa Claus, Tuesday, Dec. 14, from 3:30 to 5:30 p.m., for kids of all ages.

The Calhoun-Gordon County Public Library, 100 N. Park Ave., will host a Teen Painting Party, Thursday, Dec. 16, from 4 to 6 p.m. for 6th through 12th graders. To participat­e, sign up by calling the library at 706-624-1456.

Heritage Baptist Church, 345 Curtis Parkway, will display its “Road to the Resurrecti­on” live nativity scene Thursday, Dec. 16 through Saturday, Dec. 18, starting at 6:30 p.m. and lasting until around 10 p.m. nightly.

Crane Eater Community Church, 3168 Red Bud Road, will display its second annual drivethru live nativity Friday, Dec. 17 and Saturday, Dec. 18, from 7 to 9 p.m. each night.

The annual Dana Patterson Memorial Christmas Concert is set for Saturday, Dec. 18, at the GEM Theatre, 114 N. Wall St., beginning at 7 p.m. General admission $18.69.

Calhoun’s VFW Post 5373, 406 W. Line St., will host a New Year’s Eve party, Friday, Dec. 31, at 8 p.m. for all local veterans and their guests.

The Calhoun-Gordon County Public Library, 100 N. Park Ave., has resumed Noni’s Nook Story Time for children of all ages each Tuesday at 10:30 a.m. Children can sing, hear stories and participat­e in crafts. All aspects of in-person programmin­g are subject to change based on health crisis guidelines and procedures.

The Renis Barrett VFW Post 5376, 406 W. Line St., will hold a veterans outreach breakfast the last Saturday of each month, from 8 to 10 a.m., in the event hall. The free breakfast is open to all local veterans.
