DAVIS, Hilda

Hilda Causby Davis of Calhoun passed away on January 2, 2022 at Memorial Hospital in Chattanooga. She was born on November 20, 1954 to the late Manuel and Lou Brewster Causby.

Other than her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Johnny Davis; her mother and father-in-law, Clyde and Clara Davis; two brothers, J.D. and Rev. Bobby Causby; four sisters, Tinnie Causby, Mildred Jackson, Coleen Wilson, and Faynell Adams; and a son-inlaw Johnny Hayes.

She is survived by one son, Kevin Davis; daughter, Christie Hayes; grandchildren, Kirsten Hayes, Tyler Hayes, and Kevin Lee Sexton; great-granddaughter, Lyna River Sexton; one brother, Gilbert Causby; four sisters, Delma Ray, Brenda Long, Darlene Herndon, Karen Kirby; one brotherin-law, Eddie Kirby; one sister-in-law, Shelba Causby. Several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and nephews, and a host of other relatives also survive.

She attended Resaca Elementary school and Calhoun High School. She was a faithful employee of Mohawk Industries Sample Department for over 30 years before her health forced her retirement. She loved writing poetry and riding through the mountains, watching ocean sunsets, and teaching her Sunday school class at Changing Lives Ministries, where she was a member.

The family will receive friends at Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 from 12:00 noon until 2:00 PM.

The funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Max Brannon and Sons Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 5, 2022 at 2:00 PM with Rev. Allen Bunch and Tim Sanford officiating. Interment will be at Haven of Rest Memorial Park. Pallbearers include Scotty Welch, Jason Kirby, Jacob Cox, Wil Tumblin, Mike Early, and Tom Mayfield.
