Oostanaula School Community Club will not host a July benefit due to the Independen­ce Day holiday. The next benefit will be Saturday, August 6th with bands Bound to Ramble and Highway 411 playing. More details announced later.

The Harris Arts Center will host its first Community Band Concert Saturday, July 2, at 7 p.m. at Calhoun City Park downtown. The show is free and open to the public.

The annual Star Spangled Celebratio­n will be held Sunday, July 3, from 5 to 10 p.m. at the Cherokee Capital Fairground­s, 1060 Liberty Road off Highway 53. Admission is free with concerts, food, vendors, magic and fireworks.

Harris Arts Center, 212 S. Wall St., will host its Regional Art Show now through Friday, Aug. 19, with an artist reception Sunday, July 10, from 3 to 4:30 p.m.

Gordon County Chamber of Commerce will host a State of the Industry Economic Forecast Thursday, July 28, from 10 a.m. to noon, at the Calhoun Performing Arts Center, 520 Oothcaloog­a St.

Samantha Lusk & Associates Real Estate, 208 N. River St., will host its 3rd Annual Back-to-School Bash Backpack Donation Drive, Thursday, July 28, from 5:30 to 7 p.m. Bring one or more backpacks per family and enjoy an evening of snow cones, food, games, bounce houses, and a movie.

Christian Community Outreach will host its annual Back to School Celebratio­n, Saturday, July 30, at 11:30 a.m. at the Calhoun Recreation Department, 601 S. River St. The sixth annual event will provide free back-toschool items, food, games, clothing, shoes and other fun for families in the community.
