- ELLISON, Joan Lee

In Loving Memory of Joan (Holland) Ellison. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Joan Holland Ellison, a beloved mother, grandmothe­r, great-grandmothe­r and friend. She departed this world at the age of 75, surrounded by the love of her family, on January 15th, 2024. Born on March 29th, 1948, Joan lived a life marked by compassion, wisdom, and an unwavering commitment to her loved ones. She leaves behind a legacy that will forever be etched in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her. A devoted mother, Joan poured her love into raising her cherished daughter, Dawn. Her nurturing spirit and unwavering support created a home filled with warmth and laughter. As a grandmothe­r, she embraced her role with joy and enthusiasm, creating cherished memories with her grandchild­ren that will be treasured for generation­s. She was a pillar of strength for her friends and her community. Her kindness knew no bounds, and she touched the lives of many with her generous and caring nature. Her home was a haven for all who entered, a place where love and hospitalit­y flowed freely. She was preceded in death by her parents Jack Holland of Chattanoog­a and Billie (Brewer) Holland of Dalton (formerly of Chattanoog­a). She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law Dawn and Carlton Beard of Dalton, Grandsons Ellison Beard (Josh Glass) of Augusta, GA and Connor Beard (Rachel) of Ringgold, great grandson Atlas Beard of Ringgold, her ex-husband and friend, Randy Ellison of Dalton, a brother and nephew Richard and Cody Holland both of Rossville and numerous cousins. As we mourn the loss of Joan, let us also celebrate the beautiful life she lived. Her memory will live on in the hearts of her family and friends, a beacon of love and strength that will continue to guide us through the days ahead. A celebratio­n to honor her life will be held on January 20th from 2 to 5 PM at the Clubhouse at Meadowbroo­k Colony off Crow Valley Road in Dalton. Friends of the family may drop by anytime during these hours. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations to St Jude’s Children’s Hospital in her name. May she rest in eternal peace, her spirit forever alive in the love and memories she leaves behind.
