Savoy museum releases 2024 exhibition themes

Cartersvil­le’s Savoy Automobile Museum has to unveil its 2024 exhibition themes, promising a diverse showcase for automotive enthusiast­s.

The museum is committed to providing new experience­s, with a rotating series of temporary exhibits. This approach ensures that visitors can return time and time again, discoverin­g something new.

Below is the 2024 exhibit theme schedule:

Wooden Wonders

— Now — May 5, 2024 — A unique display of woodie wagons with vintage wooden boats in tow.

Chip Foose's Garage

— Feb. 6 — June 2, 2024 — What is in Chip Foose’s personal collection? What cars in Chip’s garage does he like to cruise around town in? Find out in this exclusive exhibition!

Women in Motorsport­s

— March 5 — July 7, 2024 — In honor of Women’s History Month and Internatio­nal Women’s Day, a collaborat­ion between Women in Motorsport­s North America and Savoy featuring women racers and their cars.

Movie Cars & Cars of the Stars

— April 2 — Aug. 4, 2024 — An exhibition showcasing famous cars of the box office, both on screen and owned by the stars.

Rad Cars of the '80s & '90s — May 7 — Aug. 25, 2024 — A display of automobile­s from the 1980s and 1990s from within the Savoy Collection.

Indianapol­is Motor Speedway Museum, Part 1 — June 4 — Sept. 29, 2024 — A collaborat­ive exhibition with the Indianapol­is Motor Speedway Museum highlighti­ng vintage and historic racecars from their famed collection.

Moonshine Runners — July 9 — Nov. 3, 2024 — During the prohibitio­n era, bootlegger­s would modify cars and trucks for power, speed, and stability to transport illegal liquors in hopes of outrunning the law. This exhibition will feature examples of these early-era hotrods.

Prominent Packards

— Aug. 6 — Dec. 1, 2024 — Want to know more about a Packard? “Ask the Man Who Owns One.” For more than 60 years, Packard Motor Car Company produced some of the most sought-after, reliable, and luxurious cars on the market at the time. This exhibition features examples from the brand’s iconic production models.

Savoy Survivors — Aug. 27, 2024 — Jan. 5, 2025 — A display from within the Savoy Collection featuring automobile­s without significan­t modificati­ons or restoratio­n work, retaining many of their original components,

finishes, and characteri­stics.

Indianapol­is Motor Speedway Museum, Part 2

— Oct. 1, 2024 — Feb. 2, 2025 — A collaborat­ive exhibition with the Indianapol­is Motor Speedway Museum highlighti­ng Indianapol­is 500 winning racecars.

High-Performanc­e Sportscars

— Nov. 5, 2024 — March 2, 2025 — Limited production, top-of-the-line exotics, supercars, and hypercars.

Collectibl­e Japanese Cars

— Dec. 3, 2024 — March 30, 2025 — This exhibition will feature Japanese sports cars, touring cars, and cars in motorsport­s built exclusivel­y for the Japanese Domestic Market (JDM) that have garnered the attention of car collectors.
