P-Bruins force overtime for second straight night, lose again in OT

-

PROVIDENCE — For the second night in a row, the Providence Bruins forced over time, then lost in the three-on--three sudden-death period. The home point streak extends to 12 games.

Jack Combs scored his first goal of the season to put the Wolf Pack up 1-0 when he knocked in an awkward bounce of the boards. The rest of the period was dump-and-chase style of play on both ends of the ice

Anton Blidh struck early in the second period to tie the game 1-1. A clean break out lead to Colton Hargrove’s pass to Colby Cave who streaked up the left wing and gave a centering pass to Blidh. His wrist shot rocketed top shelf. Unfortunately for the P-Bruins, the Wolf Pack retaliated just 0:29 later to reclaim the lead when Combs scored his second of the night.

It was a ping pong style third period until the final minute of regulation when Seth Griffith scored his 12th goal of the season to tie the game. Alexander Khokhlachev won the face- off and Griffith collected the puck from the resulting scrum, turned, and fired a shot on net that found twine blocker side.

Hartford controlled the puck for the majority of OT, with Zane McIntyre making a huge breakaway stop about a minute in. Just under two minutes into the three-onthree period, Brady Skjei went coast to coast and buried the puck low to the glove side.

The Providence Bruins are back home this Friday January 22nd against the Springfield Falcons.
