LINCOLN – Senior Sam Andrews continues to build on a formidable indoor season as she captured all four throwing events in Lincoln High’s Northern Division double-dual meet sweep of Burrillville (75-66) and Woonsocket (85-59) at Ferguson Field on Monday.

Andrews led the way in the hammer (164-4); shot put (34-2 ½); javelin (86-7 ½); and discus (113-10), yet sister Jackie Andrews (shot), Tori Tallo (shot and discus), Rebecca Brierly (triple and high jumps), Abby O’Hern (3,000), Valynda Mede (200, 400) and Sam Leal (1,500, 800) all proved to be crucial point getters for the Lions.

For the Villa Novans, who also dropped an 87-52 decision to the Broncos, senior Quinn Harlan ruled the 100 (12.5) and 200 (28.5), with sophomore Alissiana Folco winning the long jump (16-3, three inches ahead of Harlan) and 100 low hurdles (16.8); and junior MaryAnn Carr claiming the high jump (4-10) and adding a runner-up in the triple jump.

Sabrina Mercado also garnered a triumph in the 300 low hurdles (57.9).

Of the 10 running events, Burrillville snatched six, and Sabrina Charron played a role in four. Not only did she win the 400 (1:06.0) and 800 (2:43.7), but she also helped the 4 x 100 and 4 x 400 relays to the top spot.

Aliza Richard took the 1,500 (5:26.0), and Alyssa Vitiello the 3,000 (12:35.3), though Carly Cournoyer nailed down the triple jump (32-7) and placed third in the long jump.
