Mount St. Charles starts campaign with sweep at Country View
BURRILLVILLE – Mount St. Charles received the very definition of consistency to post a tight 169-173 Northern Division victory over host Burrillville at Country View Golf Club’s front side on Thursday.
Freshman Ben Ellis fired a sixover 41, while sophomore Alex Neidzwiadek shot 42 and the seniorfrosh tandem of Liam Boudreault and Alex Dumas 43 for the Mounties (2-0), who also outmatched archrival Woonsocket, 169-247.
Still, medalist honors belong to the Broncos’ Noel Teter, who managed a five-over 40. Brendon Hanaway (42), Colin Stone (45) and Sam Hayden (46) also helped out with a decent rounds.
Dilyn Kline led the Villa Novans with a 51. over 36 on the front side at Kirkbrae Country Club to propel Smithfield to a pair of elementary triumphs over Lincoln (172-197) and North Smithfield (172-223) on Thursday.
Spencer Santucci aided in the four-man scoring with a 42, while Tyler Piekarski shot 45 and Steve D’Amico 46 for the Sentinels.
Lincoln fell to 2-1-1 in league play, despite a trio of 49s from Tim Cullen, Nathan Kumar and Jack Lowery.
Ryan Deslauriers paced Northmen with a nine-over 45.
Lincoln will face Burrillville at Crystal Lake Golf Club on Monday the afternoon. Western Division blowouts of Johnston (169-184) and Shea (169278).
Shane Riley fired 41, Alex Salvatore 43 and Connor Campbell 46 for the Rams.
Eric Messier led the Panthers with a 44, while Kyle Paine shot 70 for the Raiders.
