Grand jury indicts 3 on molestation charges
Three area residents were indicted on first-degree child molestation charges in unrelated incidents, according to the interim report of the Providence County Grand Jury, the Attorney General’s Office announced.
Stemming from an incident last September in Central Falls, 24-year-old Akilah Nelson of 34 Crossman St. was indicted on one count of first-degree child molestation, the AG’s office said. It’s alleged that on or about Sept. 3, 2016, Nelson molested a child 14 or younger.
Nelson is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on May 17.
Two people from Woonsocket and Pawtucket are facing charges for their alleged roles in child molestations in Woonsocket, the AG’s office said.
Forty-six-year-old Alfredo Rivera of 32 Northeast St. in Woonsocket was indicted on one count of first-degree child molestation. Around Oct. 8, 2016, Rivera allegedly molested a child 14 years or younger. The alleged molestation occurred in Woonsocket and was investigated by Woonsocket Police. Rivera’s arraignment is scheduled for May 17 in Providence County Superior Court.
Devin Pfefferle, 20, of 584 Smithfield Ave. in Pawtucket was indicted on a single count of first-degree child molestation and two counts of second-degree child molestation,
the AG’s office said. From Oct. 1, 2014 to Nov. 30, 2014, Pfefferle allegedly molested a child 14 or younger.
The alleged incidents happened in Woonsocket and were investigated by Woonsocket Police. Pfefferle is scheduled to be arraigned on May 17 in Providence County Superior Court.
Additionally, three people were indicted on charges related to robberies in Pawtucket and Woonsocket, the AG’s office said.
Elizabeth Prest, 23, of West Warwick was indicted on charges of first-degree robbery, conspiracy to commit robbery, assault with a dangerous weapon in a dwelling, breaking and entering, larceny under $1,500, and obtaining money under false pretenses under $1,500.
On Jan. 12, Prest allegedly conspired with another person to commit robbery in Pawtucket. Prest allegedly broke into a home, assaulted a resident with a knife and stole his 2000 Chevrolet Blazer, the AG’s office said. It is fur- ther alleged that she obtained money under false pretenses from another person.
Prest is scheduled to be arraigned in Providence County Superior Court on May 17.
A Dec. 13 robbery in Pawtucket also led to an indictment. Nineteen-yearold Ebrima Jatta of Providence was indicted on charges of first-degree robbery and conspiracy. Jatta allegedly conspired with another person to commit robbery and later robbed an individual, the AG’s office said.
Jatta’s arraignment is slated for May 17 in Providence County Superior Court.
A robbery in Woonsocket also yielded an indictment. On Jan. 28, Heather Peloquin, 18, of 686 Diamond Hill Road, allegedly conspired with three unnamed juvenile co-conspirators to commit a robbery in Woonsocket and also that she allegedly robbed a person at knifepoint.
The grand jury reported out an indictment charging Peloquin with first-degree robbery, conspiracy, and assault with a dangerous weapon. She is due to be arraigned in court on May 17.
