WOONSOCKET — Connecting for Children and Families (CCF) announced today it will hold the Hope Street Heroes Awards Dinner on Thursday, May 18, at 5:30 p.m. at Kirkbrae Country Club in Lincoln. The event is co-chaired by Robert and Rena DiMuccio, and Sally Lapides and Art Solomon.

“As parents, Rena and I recognize the value of CCF’s programs and the importance of creating and maintaining healthy families,” said DiMuccio.

Lapides and Solomon echoed their co-chairs’ remarks, “giving children the opportunity to reach their full potential gives us hope for the families of the future.”

Three outstanding recipients will be honored as Hope Street Heroes: BankRI, Elizabeth Z. Chace, and the Northern Rhode Island Chamber of Commerce. Each honoree has shown significant results in their work and compassion for families in need in the Northern Rhode Island community.

“Heroes are known for their leadership and noble commitment to their communities,” said Terese Curtin, executive director of Connecting for Children & Families. “We are proud to recognize our honorees as heroes to the thousands of disadvantaged children right here in Northern Rhode Island.”

The evening will commence with hors d’oeuvres, a silent auction, and networking with engaged members of the community. Guests will enjoy a threecourse, seated dinner in the grand ballroom with the presentation of the Hope Street Heroes Awards.

Proceeds from the evening will support CCF’s critical programs, such as Parent as Teachers, a nationally-recognized home visiting program for families with small children and our Hope Street Early Learning Center, which offers a safe, nurturing environment for toddlers and preschoolers. Additional programs include workforce training, afterschool enrichment and basic needs assistance with food, clothing and heating.

This event has been made possible by the generosity of The Chace Family Foundation, Amica Insurance, BankRI, Howland Evangelista Kohlenberg Burnett, Residential Properties, and many other faithful supporters of CCF’s work in the community.
