WOONSOCKET— Betty Jo (Allard) Blais, 64, passed away on Wednesday morning, May 10, at St. Antoine Residence, after a valiant battle with Alzheimer’s disease. She was surrounded by loving family and friends who made her final days joy fu l through song, laughter, and the sharing of memories. She is the beloved wife of Paul G. Blais, of Woonsocket, for over 38 years.

Betty was the daughter of the late Arthur C. and Norma (Armstrong) Allard. She is the incredibly loving mother of Steven E. Blais and Keri L. Blais, both of Woonsocket. She is survived by several siblings who made her life vibrant: Deborah Lombardo of Blackstone, Janis Lacroix and her husband James of Franklin, Joseph Allard of Glocester, Kathi PoliwodaAl­lard and her wife Beth of Southampto­n, Judy Marchand and her husband Gerry, Edward Allard and his wife Michelle, and William Allard and his wife Karen, Lois Coutu and her husband Marcel, and Diane Fitzgerald and her husband Kevin, all of Bellingham. She is also survived by her sister- in- law, Janice Allard of North Providence, and her brother- in- law, Norman Belanger of Blackstone. She was predecease­d by her sisters Gail Donna Belanger and Arlene Allard, and her brothers Michael and John Allard. Family was her world. She had many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews that she loved beyond compare.

Betty grew up in Bellingham, but has been a resident of Woonsocket since 1978. She worked for CVS/Mark Stevens for over 30 years. She loved her employment before retiring in 2005. Her favorite pastimes were taking road trips with her husband, reading, supporting her children’s various activities, and listening to music. She loved and valued the gift of a large family.

The family would like to extend tremendous gratitude to the medical, activities, and spiritual staff members who work at and with St. Antoine Residence. They cared for her and supported the family for many years.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, May 17, at 9 a. m. from Cartier’s Funeral Home, 151 South Main Street, Bellingham, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 a.m. at Precious Blood Church, 94 Carrington Ave., Woonsocket. Interment will follow at St. James Cemetery, Manville Road, Manville. Visiting hours are on Tuesday, May 16 from 5 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home.
