Community Care Alliance presents annual awards
WOONSOCKET— More than 150 people attended the Community Care Alliance (CCA) 126th annual meeting at St. Ann Arts & Cultural Center in Woonsocket, including Board of Directors, staff, Friends of CCA, and invited guests from the community.
Board Chair, William M. Ryan, Esq., led the business meeting in which the election of Woonsocket City Councilor, Melissa Murray was affirmed as Director to the Public Sector, and Kelley Auclair to the Private Sector. Judith R. Dance was re-elected as Director to the Woonsocket Sector, and Jill Rasmussen was re-elected to the Private Sector.
The slate of Directors and Officers was approved unanimously effective as of July 1, 2017. CCA Board of Directors also affirmed the appointment of Directors to Boards of affiliated HUD Borrowers Corporations.
Guest speakers were Diane St. Germaine, Lindsey Gaviani, and John Quinlan who told their inspiring stories to guests.
The Paul H. Dempster Award, CCA’s highest commendation, was presented to Charles T. Jones, former CEO of Thundermist Health Center, and current President/CEO of Harbor Health Services, Inc., for dramatically expanding facilities and care to patients in our community. He also received a Congressional Citation from Rep. David Cicilline. The Ubuntu Award to honor CCA staff persons who embody the spirit of humanity toward others was presented to Michelle Taylor, Director of Outpatient Services; and Patricia Ovalles DeJesus, The Harbour YouthWorks411 Data and Programming Supervisor.
