HARRISVILL­E - Maria T. (Cormier) Lavoie, 87, of Har-risville and formerly of Linwood, MA passed away Tues. Aug. 8, 2017 in the Philip Hulitar Hos-pice Center, Providence. She was the wife of the late Edgar J. Lavoie who died in 2012.

Mrs. Lavoie had been em-ployed at L.G. Balfour Compa-ny in Attleboro, MA for several years and had previously worked at GE/Telecron in Ash-land, MA. She had been a resi-dent of Linwood, MA before moving to Bellingham, MA and later Harrisvill­e.

She was born in 1929 in Memramcook, New Brunswick, Canada the daughter of the late Albert and Nydia (Gaudet) Cormier. She loved sewing and enjoyed knitting and baking. De-voted in her Catholic faith, she would often attend Mass at St. Theresa's Church in Blackstone.

Mrs. Lavoie is survived by her children Linda R. Roy and her husband Ray of Millville, MA, Michael J. Lavoie of Pascoag, Diane M. Bissonnett­e and her husband Robert of Whitinsvil­le, Giselle M. Lavoie of Blackstone, MA, Robert J. Lavoie and his wife Linda of GA, Denise M. Lavoie of Harrisvill­e, Joanne M. William and her husband Michael of Woonsocket, Richard J. Lavoie and his wife Lori of CT, Jacqueline M. McIntyre of Harrisvill­e, David P. Lavoie and his companion Maryanne Beal of Webster, Lisa K. Lavoie and her boyfriend Thomas Morey of Chepachet, and Gary P. Lavoie and his fiancee Katie Soulliere of Chepachet;\ 35 grandchild­ren; many great-grandchild­ren, and nieces and nephews.

Visiting hours will be Friday August 11, 2017 from 5 -7 PM in the Buma Funeral Home, 101 N. Main Street, Rte. 122, Uxbridge, MA. Funeral services will be private.
