BRISTOL — Jazz talent Debra Mann and her quartet interpret the sounds of Joni Mitchell in the Linden Place Ballroom on Sunday, Sept. 10 at 2 p.m.

Joni Mitchell is regarded as one of the most influential and revered songwriters of our time. Her style links the worlds of acoustic music with rock, jazz, and classical. Her lyrical sense, phrasing and poetic imagery are as visual as they are musical. The songwriter and sublime talent has not toured in many years.

So what’s a Joni fan to do? Catch Mann live at Linden Place. Come for a great afternoon of music and celebrate this rare- and highly- gifted and influential artist.

Mann and her band are making their first appearance at Linden Place Mansion. Together they will interpret the iconic music of Mitchell through a jazz lens. Mann, pianist and vocalist, has performed in the northeast for three decades. Her own artistry was deeply influenced by Joni’s music – from her folk years through her deep exploration into jazz. This is not Mann’s first time covering Mitchell’s work. In fact, earlier performances were so memorable that her fans asked for an encore.

As an added attraction, Mann’s band features the talents of Dino Govoni (sax), Dave Zinno (bass), and Marty Richards (drums).

Tickets to this intimate performance are $15 – $10 for Linden Place members and free for Colt Circle Members. Reservations should be made in advance as seating is limited.

Contact the office at 401253-0390 or e-mail info@lindenplace.org for reservations or more information.
