WOONSOCKET — If you stopped by the Brick House Restaurant & Pub at 2120 Diamond Hill Road in the past week and found it closed, not to worry, the business is only taking a little vacation time.

That’s because General Manager Bobby Vigeant and his Chef, Waldemar “Toastie” Gomez, have a busy week ahead.

On Friday, Vigeant said he scheduled 12 days of vacation time to allow for some renovations starting on Sept. 15 and running until Sept. 28.

“We are appearing the Rhode Show on Thursday morning,” Vigeant said, while explaining Gomez will be kicking off the restaurant’s new American Bistro menu on the program by making a lobster ravioli dish and also pumpkin

risotto.

Vigeant added that the new menu will offer some lowerpriced items to improve the restaurant’s attractiveness to those not seeking a fine dining night out.

“Our menu spans Portuguese, French and Italian meals and can run $35 a dish,” he said. The new menu will include items ranging $10 less and more, he said. “You will be able to find dinners for $25, $12, or $10,”

The Brick House has already gained the attention of Joe Vito’s food programs on television, and Vigeant said the new menu will maintain the restaurant’s attention to good food.

“We are trying to accommodate the local area while also bringing in our customers from outside the city,” Vigeant said.

Vigeant said he also need- ed some time for his recuperation from a recent operation and to kick off of his renewed workouts for an upcoming night of boxing he is hosting at the restaurant’s grounds on Saturday, Sept. 30.

The fight is part of the ‘Brawl for It All’ series sponsored by Richard Cappiello of Brockton, a nephew of the great Rocky Marciano.

Vigeant himself will be in one of the fights on the night’s card and is facing John Gallant in a grudge match.

The big fight of the night, one of the nine slated to be held, will have Matt Gill facing Chad Leoncello, Vigeant said.

The most recent ‘Brawl for It All’ fight was held at the Last Resort in Smithfield and drew a big crowd there, Vigeant said. That is all the more reason for everything to be ready on Saturday when the boxing is scheduled to start at 5 p.m. The boxing ring will be set up outside in the Brick House’s rear parking lot with four rows of ringside seating and two additional seating areas at either end of the lot. The restaurant will be serving inside, and Vigeant said it will rival the night in August that the Brick House hosted the John Cafferty and the Beaver Brown Band.

The reopening on Thursday, Sept. 28, will also feature a special night scheduled as part of the “Will & Grace” television show premiere, and karaoke is also scheduled for the re-opening night.

Vigeant posted a noted on restaurant’s front door announcing the vacation days and upcoming schedule of events.

Tickets for Saturday’s fight night will be sold online at eventbrite.com/e/brawl-for-itall-tickets-37747. More information on the upcoming events is available at BrickhouseRI.com, or by calling 401-768-3433.
