WOONSOCKET — The city’s 39th edition of Autumnfest kicks off Friday at World War II Veterans Memorial Park off Social Street

SATURDAY, OCTOBER 7

Sunday will also feature “MEGA War” — New England’s Largest Tug O’ War Competition. The Woonsocket Rotary Club has challenged the Autumnfest Steering Committee to an exhibition Tug O’War. The pull will take place at 2:30 p.m. during the Autumnfest Tug O’ War Competition near the basketball courts. Woonsocket Mayor Lisa Baldelli-Hunt will officiate.
Sporting Events Coordinator Cheryl Savaria is looking for five more Adult Tug O’War Teams. The High School Division is full, and therefore closed to additional registrations. There are cash awards of $1,000, $500 and $250, plus championship t-shirts. Teams must pre-register by downloading the registration forms from the autumnfest.org
