Deschamps nets hat trick in Burrillvil­le D-II home win

BURRILLVIL­LE — Burrillvil­le junior forward Jenna Deschamps rescued the Broncos again.

After visiting Lincoln School scored three goals in the second half to tie Monday afternoon’s Division II-North contest, Deschamps finished off a hat trick with an unassisted goal with 3:19 left in the game to secure a 4-3 victory.

“We played well despite everything that happened in the game,” Burrillvil­le coached Susan Burgess said. “We dug deep and played really hard. This was a good win for us.”

Burrillvil­le (6-1 Division IINorth) jumped ahead of the Lynx just 4:24 into the opening half when Jordan Houle found Deschamps for a goal. Just 16 seconds later, Deschamps hit the back of the cage again, this time on an assist from Dezarae Parkhurst

Lincoln School (5-2 Division IINorth) began its second-half comeback with a Miranda Zito goal just two minutes into the half. Clarisse Kerr Abraham and Addie DeFeo scored goals to tie the game.

The Broncos, who received a second-half goal from Lindsey Salley, won the contest on Deschamps third goal of the game.

Burrillvil­le will be back in action this afternoon when Rocky Hill visits for a 4 p.m. contest.
