1952Ned Crowley of Berkeley became the first player to capture consecutive batting crowns in the Blackstone Valley Amateur Baseball League with a mark of .509, but did not equal his .529 mark of last season. Leo Labossiere, Berkeley’s diminutive second baseman, had a better batting average, hitting a lusty .542, but played in four fewer games than Crowley. Several players who hit over .400 include Art Bonnani (.460), Joe Di Biase (.442) and Bill Del Vecchio (.449) all of Al’s Tydol, while Crowley’s teammates Fred Solty (.406) and Al Jackson (.415) were the other select circle hitters.

1962The Central Falls Townies, paced by Stan Koza’s touchdown jaunts of 35 and 40 yards, continued their powerhouse play by blasting the Providence Patriots 33-0 in a R. I. Pre-Teen Football League romp. Adding to the touchdown parade were Roland Gagnon on a seven-yard run, Bob Salisbury on a oneyard plunge and Ken Moore on a 29-yard reverse. Jimmy Coyle, Russ Brooks, Ron Charette and Norm Brule were outstanding on defense for the unbeaten (4-0) CF eleven.

1972Bill Banach with a strong 256, 211 and 178 for a 645 total captured high honors in the weekly matches of the Blackstone Valley Industrial League held at the Brunswick Ten Pin Lanes. Other high scores were Walt Mynarski 603, Ernie Lagasse 569, Jim LaFountain 569, Dick Phillips 567, Roland Bergeron 555, Ben Lambert 553, Mel Czepiel 552, Wayne Long 551, Bazil White 549, Stan Oloweicki 547, Jim Moran 546, John Anker 544, Mitch Stec 541 Hugo Finizia 539, Roger Kubiskey 532, Stan Travis 532 and Ron Moline 531.
