1962Paul Cherniawsk­i rolled a high-three series of 392 to capture top honors in the weekly matches of the Hamlet “30” Duckpin Lanes House League. Other leaders were Ralph Buteau 386, Frank Reilly 377, Jim Sweeney 375, Bud Plante 374, Joe Fonseca 369, Frank Pawlitsche­k 368, Ray O’Riley 362, Roger Langlois 362, Gus Almeida 361, Manny Pita 360, Roland Lanoue 359, Bill Cowdell Jr. 358, Bud Luther 354, Bob Sonntag 353, Harold Keenan 353, Don Gomes 353 and Walter Palethorpe 350.

1972Larry Newberg, Rich Katkowski and Joe Barata finished second, fourth and fifth, respective­ly, to pace Tolman to a 24-37 victory over Classical in a cross country meet at Slater Park. In other X-C meets, Don Ryan was the pace-setter in a time of 11:02 as Pawtucket West trimmed Woonsocket 19-36 at Max Read Field. Steve Sweeney captured first place in leading Cumberland to a 25-33 win over Saint Raphael Academy, while Dave Fregeau of SRA and Clipper Steve Cashman finished second and third, respective­ly.

1992Shea tennis coach Carol Beagan’s singles players swept all four matches en route to a 52 victory over Ponaganset­t in Class CNorth action. Tara Lambert, Dawn Gilbert, Jeannine Da Luz and Annabella Luis triumphed in No. 1 through No. 4 singles, respective­ly, while the No. 1 doubles tandem of Elizabeth Silva and Vera Gomes captured their match in straight sets. In Class B-South tennis play, the No. 2 doubles team of Lynne Lampinski and Jill Finucci clinched the win for Saint Raphael Academy as the Saints made it four in a row with a 5-2 victory over rival Narraganse­tt.
