1962Joe Harris, a skinny speed demon, paced the Woonsocket attack by gaining 184 yards in 19 carries including three touchdowns as the hard-hitting Villa Novans racked up their fourth straight victory by whipping Tolman 26-14 at McCoy Stadium in a Suburban Division encounter. Harris tallied his TDs on scampers of 53 and 25 yards and a 21-yard pass and run play from QB Norm Renaud who scored the other Woonsocket touchdown on a five-yard run. The Tigers, who were dealt their third consecutive loss, scored on TD aerials of one and three yards by QB Steve Storin to end Ron Palagi.

Tolman soccer coach Tony Colella, with a mix of veterans and rookies, battled Moses Brown of the prep school ranks to a 1-1 tie in a non-league tilt. Kevin Spooner scored his first varsity goal at the 15-minute mark of the second half to gain the deadlock for the Tigers, while Victor Santos made 12 saves in goal as Tolman was outshot by an 18-12 margin. Colella cited the play of sophomore midfielder Tony Fernandes and varsity regulars Tony DaSilva and Robert Bala at fullback.

19821992Coach Howie Catley’s bigger, stronger and quicker Lincoln eleven punished Class C rival Tolman 27-6 at McCoy Annex. Fullback Steve Schmidts, who rushed for 86 yards on only seven carries, scored on jaunts of 12 and 44 yards, QB Kevin Ramage tallied on a two-yard sneak and tossed a 37-yard aerial TD to Kevin Carter and kicked two PAT to boot for the Lions’ points, while Joey Wilson was the Tigers only bright spot gaining 130 yards in 12 attempts including a 73-yard touchdown gallop with 1:03 left to play. Catley had high praise for his offensive line comprised of tackles David Sousa and Gary Dufault, guards Wayne Bouthilette and Shawn Garneau and center Jason Kilsey.
