CRANSTON — 5th Annual Park View Veterans Day 5k Run/ Walk and 1 Mile Kids Fun Run; Roger Williams Park, across from Park View Middle School Park Avenue Entrance; 8: 30 a. m. Kids 1 Mile, 9: 30 a. m. 5K; This annual event brings honor and recognition to our Veterans, while giving back to a worthwhile cause, Operation Stand Down RI. Additional proceeds from the event will benefit programs for the school throughout the year.. The 5k race will start and finish at the Park Avenue entrance to Roger Williams Park across from Park View Middle School. Race t- shirts go to the first 700 entrants to the race, guaranteed race T- shirts to all online registrations. Post- race food and beverages to all partici- pants. CUMBERLAND — 3rd Annual B. Glad Memorial 5k Run & Walk; The Monastery, 1464 Diamond Hill Road Gazebo by the Senior Center, 10 a. m. start, 9 a. m. registration; The event benefits the Happy Basket Program. This is to celebrate the memory of Bill Glad who gave himself in many ways, to kick off his favorite time of year. We have chose the Happy Basket program as the beneficiary of all funds raised through this event. The Happy Basket provides food baskets at Thanksgiving and Christmas and toys for children in need at Christmas.
