St. Joseph Senior meeting, Nov. 28

WOONSOCKET— President Suzanne Grenier opened the meeting with a prayer for the sick, Helen Arsenault and Jeanne Wall, and for the deceased Alice Harpin, who was a former officer for St. Joseph Seniors.

Door prize winners were Helen Mumford, Leo Grenier, Blanche Roy, Alice Durand and Marilyn Beaudette. Raffle ticket winners were Marie Desilets, Leo Grenier, Liz Cole, Marjorie Mineau and Joan Joubert.

Everyone enjoyed the Christmas party at the Village Haven. There were 15 door prizes and 21 Christmas party dollar-a-month winners. Ed Aubin was the winner of the money tree raffle.

A collection of $150 for the milk fund was made by the seniors and donated in memory of Rita Rousseau, who was president for St. Joseph for 35 years.

St. Joseph Seniors will also be a sponsor for a Christmas Musical of local choirs recorded through the years on WNRI on Monday, Dec. 18 from 6 to 9 p.m. in memory of Rousseau and proceeds will benefit The New Beginnings Soup Kitchen.

St. Joseph’s officers were sworn in by nominee committee Barbara De Christofar­o and they are as follows: President, Suzanne Grenier; Vice President, Fran Roy; Second Vice President, Vivian Cadieux; Secretary, Lori Dutremble; and Treasurer, Pat Palardy.
