1953With Larry Wright and Joe McCluskie taking control of the backboards, Pawtucket Vocational raced out to a 27-12 halftime lead en route to a 55-24 triumph over Blackstone High. Tom Campbell and Chet Bobola put the game on ice for the Vokes with several baskets in the final period. Ed Skwirz was the game’s high scorer with 14 points followed by Tony Thornhill with 10 for the locals.

1963Coach Cappy Asermely has three starters returning in scorers 5-10 Mike Cabral and 5-8 Billy Donnelly and 61 rebounder Dennis Bosse as the usually bleak Pawtucket Vocational outlook appears somewhat brighter. Joining the three returning veterans in the starting lineup will be 5-10 Ray Benjamin and either 6-0 Charlie Piette, 5-8 Del Dupuis or 5-4 Doug Sandrowski. Rounding out the squad are 5-9 Roger Piette, 6-1 Frank Silvia, 5-8 Dick Fanning, 5-6 Ralph Nadeau, 6-0 Garry Kent, 5-6 Bob LeRoux, 5-7 Frank Lyons and 5-4 Charlie Hall.

1973Davies Vocational hoop coach Kevin Dunne has four of five starters returning in 6-0 Steve Barry, 6-2 Chris Kelly, 6-1 Art Monteiro and 6-0 Steve Nyzio. The fifth starter for the Patriots likely will be either 5-8 Bob Esposito or 6-0 Bob Brown. 6-0 Dave Gardner, 5-8 Steve Roderick and 6-0 Steve Gibbs round out the varsity roster. “Everyone has improved over a year ago and I think we should be a surprise over the course of the season,” noted Dunne.
